Specialized Service
Kitchen Hood Cleaning
A hood line can look passable and still signal deeper grease problems behind it. Exhaust Elite ties visible hood cleaning to real maintenance standards, documented work and repeatable service that helps operators stay prepared for inspection.
Service Overview
Visible cleaning tied to real service standards
Kitchen hood cleaning affects more than appearance. It shapes how clean the front line feels, how seriously the site presents itself and how clearly grease management is handled above the cookline.
Exhaust Elite treats the hood as the visible face of the wider exhaust system. The service is not reduced to cosmetic wiping. We focus on the hood, canopy, filters and the way those components connect to the rest of the exhaust path.
The result is a cleaner hood line, stronger inspection presentation and a documented service standard that can be repeated instead of a one-time touch-up.
Where specialist hood cleaning adds value
- Visible grease accumulation that affects presentation and day-to-day confidence at the cookline.
- Sites that need hood cleaning to align with wider duct and fan service planning.
- Operators who want a cleaner, more inspection-ready standard backed by documentation.

Hood Cleaning FAQ
Clear answers before service is scheduled
Understand inspection timing, standard scope, duct decisions and service documentation before work begins.
How often should a commercial kitchen hood and exhaust system be inspected?
NFPA 96 generally calls for monthly inspection for solid fuel cooking, quarterly inspection for high volume operations, inspection every six months for moderate volume operations and annual inspection for low volume operations. These are inspection schedules, not automatic cleaning schedules. If grease contamination is found, the affected portions must be cleaned. System condition and local authority requirements can also affect the appropriate schedule.
What is included in a standard hood cleaning quote?
A standard Exhaust Elite quote generally includes the hood, grease filters and rooftop exhaust fan. Ductwork is inspected. Minimal buildup can generally be addressed during the same service where conditions permit, while extensive duct cleaning is shown and priced separately before additional work proceeds.
How do you decide if additional duct cleaning is required?
We review accessible areas and use inspection tools, including snake cameras where appropriate, to assess hidden pathways. If the duct requires a separate cleaning scope, we show you what was found and explain the work before proceeding.
How long does commercial hood cleaning take?
Time depends on hood size, number of fans, duct configuration, access and grease buildup. We confirm a realistic service window after reviewing the system rather than giving every kitchen the same guaranteed duration.
Can hood cleaning be scheduled after closing?
Yes. We can often work after closing when someone provides access or key access is arranged. Some smaller kitchens may be serviced three or four hours before opening when scope and access permit.
Do you provide before and after photos and a service report?
Yes. Exhaust Elite provides before and after photographs and a service report after service so operators have a clear record of the work completed.
